Batches 16 and 17
There are several titles here which should raise eyebrows. I'll discuss them in detail when I finally get round to watching them, but for Bahrain, Palau, Saint Kitts and South Sudan I have had to...bend my rules. By breaking them.
Palau hasn't made a film. A locally-made diving documentary is therefore the most local thing I can find that still counts. It's only half an hour, so it's not a feature film. It's either that or nothing.
Bahrain has made films, but none of them are available on DVD. You can stream them, but that's no good for me. I was actually prepared to try to acquire the rights to one of them and then sell it on to Arrow or Vinegar Syndrome as a done deal (it's a zombie film), but then I found a documentary made by a Brit in Bahrain about air travel. I suspect the zombie film may be more exciting.
Saint Kitts is the same as Palau, so tourism again beckons. What can I say? It's local.
South Sudan's documentary is under forty minutes, so breaks a rule, but at least it's local too.
I suspect I'll have to do more of this with the remaining ones.
